Made along the lines of the Tea Party playmat, this is a quickie project that probably doesn’t need much in the way of a tutorial. You’re clever, right! It’s essentially two rectangles of fabric: one has some circles and a rectangle appliqued on for stove burners and a sink, plus some button knobs, and the other rectangle has an orange strip down the middle for a “table runner”, with brown print on either side. I’d love to say that’s an intended design decision, but the honest reality is that I put too much faith in the fat-quarter-cutter at the fabric store, and didn’t even up my fabric before I started, so I had a whole section that was 2″ too short. Adding the center stripe made it all work out.
When space is tight, or portability is a big deal, simple toys like this really make a difference!
