In real life, I sew. I used to sew even more than I do now; these days, most of my work is testing my pattern ideas, rather than sewing for other people. Now and then, though, the opportunity to do an outside project presents itself, and I say yes. The last few weeks have involved one of those opportunities. I count myself blessed to have been asked.
Not too much to say on this one, other than: I love it when my hands feel guided, and I can finish a project and truly say, “This is it. This is what was intended.”
The Hebrew characters are “Mispah”, the name of the blessing embroidered on the hem. Much of the dress, and all of the bonnet and booties were handstitched, due to the small scale of the clothing. For a full-scale, non-preemie pattern for the booties, visit My Homespun Threads.
